An urban media aggregator.

I was speaking with a co-worker yesterday who was visibly upset. I asked him what was wrong and he told me that he had a bad night. He is an active member of the Obama campaign and was dismayed when he learned how Obama performed in comparison to Clinton in the New Hampshire primary. He expressed anger with how "these women" now are rallying around Clinton because she became emotional after her poor Iowa primary showing.

I told him that for women, particularly black women, the challenge may be in determining who they identify with more-- a woman or a black man. His words were, "If that is the decision black women are making-- I don't want to date any more damn black women!" He was upset, of course, and knows not what he says.

But my question to you is, who get's your vote and why?

i agree....i have no clue what's going to happen next or what's going to happen in November if he does get the nomination. i'm cynical when it comes to major leaderships and voting and all of it. (though i still participate in the process and encourage others - esp. those of us who were left out for so long to do so as well) but what will be refreshing is that if Obama wins the nomination and then goes on to win the presidency - even if it's not a systematic overhaul of the current system, i think he'll be a good representative and that it'll say a lot about where American's heads are at right now....if the poll mess goes down again like the last couple of times though, i just hope people really get up and raise a fuss

Like RBI mentioned all this voting business is all a game, being in the shell we call blackness, or womanhood is or manhood...makes us all players in game. Until we die we are going to continue to path of the game whether we choose to pro-active or dormant . Listen and let your heart dissect their beings beyond race, gender, ...then make a move that will put you in favorable at least for my time. Or like Asheber , you can choose not to vote at all, but that doesn't exempt you as player the game, you will still be affected by every move.

We have millions of Black people in this country. We are not voting for Obama simply because he is Black. We are voting for Obama because he is a highly educated, highly talented American that brings a new hope to not just our country but the world in general. People all over the globe are excited about the change coming to America. His multi-cultural background including his ties to the Black Community (the original oppressed people of America) Barack Obama is able to understand what we as Americans need whether we're White, Black, Asian, or what have you. His message completely transcends bipartisan propaganda. He isn't Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, or another Civil Rights Leader. And don't get me wrong, I respect what they did for us and what they do for us. But this is a new generation of leader ship and I personally have never felt so American in my life. God Bless America. People, Support Obama in anyway you can and check out iHOPE2008.com while you're at it ;-).

ZANESVILLE, Ohio -- Reaching out to religious voters, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama called for expanding President Bush's program steering federal social service dollars to religious groups and -- in a move sure to cause controversy -- supported some ability to hire and fire based on faith.

Obama unveiled his approach to getting religious charities more involved in government anti-poverty programs during a tour and remarks Tuesday at Eastside Community Ministry, which provides food, clothes, youth ministry and other services.

This seriously disturbs me. The frightening increase in mega churches popping up and the demise of many very influential nonprofits due to lack of funding is an indication to me that the seperation of church and state is no longer being maintained.

When statistics are showing that abstinence-based reproductive health and sex education do not improve rates of teen pregnancy and church-based schools are not engaging our children holistically, I have a concern abou this.

Is this what my vote is going to do...continue a Bush legacy?

Mr. Obama has my vote, first because I am sick from the last 8 years of the leadership from the republicans. Mr. McCain, based on replies he has given sounds like he does not have a clue really, about how the nation, not black or white, young or old, is hurting from the lack of leadership. Couldn't vote that way. I was going to vote democratic. Mrs. Clinton was my candidate, but no Bill Clinton, no Jon Kennedy. Then I heard Mr. Obama speak. He agreed with me on what the problems were, and what needed to be change. My wife was way ahead of me in knowing who Mr. Obama was and stood for. Not voting on the war, not taking money from lobbyist, said he willing to stand and stand alone if he had to. He knows changes of the magnitude can not and will not be made from a top down, but a bottom up. Well, i am almost 56 years old and my wife and I were knowing on doors in a unknown neighborhood in Dallas, Texas asking them to vote for Mr. Obama. This was a first for my wife and I. But, I knew 2008 was going to be an extraordinary year and changes were going. Changes like getting involve in what I stood for. That is why I am supporting Mr. Obama, over Mrs. Clinton. This is not like voting for Jesse Jackson. I believe Mr. Obama really has what we need to bring this nation together, similar to John Kennedy slogan, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. Mr. Obama is calling the nation to step up to the problems and provide solutions, and implement them.
