Duke Ellington School of Arts

The R Street Collective is a student run performance troupe from Duke Ellington School of Arts comprised of students from the Literary Media & Communications Department. Students perform original works before live audiences within the Washington, DC metro area. This is the first of several videos produced for the troupe.

Sideline Pass

Sojournals recently produced some video content for SidelinePass.com a great fan site for women that combines the fun of being a football fan, with tips for moms with sons who play and profiles of pro athletes. Sideline Pass interviewed former Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice and Pro Football star of the Arizona Cardinals and 2009 Pro Bowl MVP Larry Fitzgerald about their love of the game, family, and battles both of their mothers faced with Cancer. The interview was given over the phone by Sideline Pass President Mia Jackson, a long time friend of Dr. Rice.

BlackBoxx Online

BlackBoxx is an online magazine featuring artists and entertainers. They commissioned Sojournals to create some portraits of some of their featured female artists and models before having a night out on the town in Washington, DC. The photos were taken at popular U Street lounge Gin and Tabaq Bistro.

S.H.A.R.P. Summer Enrichment Program

Sojournals created the design and layout for a slang dictionary titled The DC Way OF English for S.H.A.R.P. (Summer Humanities Arts Readiness Program). The book was created by summer program instructors Jade Foster and Toni Blackman and students of Ballou SHS participating in their 2009 summer program.

Heron Gibran

International Hip Hop performer and visual artist Heron Gibran commissioned Sojournals to produce photos for his 2009 marketing and promotions campaign. The photos were used as album art, on BlackBoxx Online, social network Black Broadway, in an artist photo book for his 2009 Artomatic exhibit “Illustrator”, and for his website www.herongibran.com.
